
Nomad Residence Program (NRP)
NRP offers a tranquil island lifestyle to full-time employees, self-employed individuals, and freelance professionals who meet the salary threshold and can prove their ability to sustain their employment and economic sufficiency through remote work. Beneficiaries of the program can travel freely within the Schengen Area and stay in another Schengen state for up to 90 days within every 180-day period.

Main applicant can include their spouse and dependent children in the initial application.
Visa-Free Travel to/within the Schengen
Residence permit-holders can fly directly to 29 Schengen countries, travel within the Schengen area without customs checks, and stay up to 90 days in other Schengen countries every 180 days.
Special Tax Status
For chargeable income derived from authorized work and remitted to Malta for this program, beneficiaries are entitled to a fixed income tax rate of 10% and relief of double taxation.
Access to Local & EU-wide Healthcare
Beneficiaries can use healthcare services across Malta with their health insurance, enjoy low-cost private and international education in Malta, and use public transport for free, both on the road and at sea.

Main Applicant
1. At least 18 years old
2. Non-EU national and not from a country sanctioned by
Residency Malta Agency
3. Fit under one of the three employement categories.

Employed - with an employer registered in a foreign country under an employment contract;

Self-Employed - conducting business activity for a company registered in a foreign country, of which the main applicant is a partner/shareholder;b.

Freelance - offering freelance or consulting services to clients whose permanent establishments are in a foreign country, with whom the main applicant has engagement agreements.c.
4. Financially independent, a minimum annual gross income of €42,000
5. Take out health insurance covering risks in Malta for all applicants
